About Bins Near Me
Bins Near Me is a free map of public bins in the UK. It helps you find the nearest litter bin or dog waste bin when you are away from home.
Why we built it
When you are out with rubbish or a dog bag, you want the nearest bin. Councils know where their bins are, but that list is rarely easy to find. We collect the open records into one map so anyone can find a bin in a few seconds.
Where the data comes from
The map has 132,361 public bins. 51,895 records come from 22 council open datasets. The rest come from OpenStreetMap volunteers. We clean the location notes, remove duplicates and keep unknown details unknown. The data sources page credits each publisher and explains our checks.
How you can help
Report a missing bin, add bins in OpenStreetMap, or ask your council to publish its bin records. The contribute page shows how.
